Installation,
Sometimes a re-installation of Sims-1 will cause error-messages or other unexpeted problems.

You have removed the old installation (at least you think you have) but still the new installation will not complete succesfully.
Please follow-up the next steps carefully:
Step 1: Go to Start, Select All Programms, Maxis, The Sims, The Sims De-install. When also expansion-packs are installed, you will be prompted to remove these as well. Answer yes or OK.
As a direct result of this: Go back to Start-AlleProgramma's-Maxis-The Sims- empty If it still is not empty and you still have other options, you did not do it correctly !

Step 2: Go to My computer, look for the icon of your harddisk C: Click on it, find the folder Program Files click it open, find folder Maxis, rightclick on it and select Remove.
Step 3: Put CD1 of th basicprogram in your computer, wait untill it has autostarted and select Finish. Go via My computer to the icon of your CD station and rightclick on it. Select Explore. Find the folder Eraser , click it open and then dubbelclick on the file Eraser (looks like a blue trafficsign)
Now everything of the Sims should be removed. Also remove the icon from your desktop
Step 4: Install the game again
If the installation-program does not prompt you for a licensenumber and instead you see a screen showing the actual installation in %, you did something wrong in steps 1 to 3 (most probably step 3). Abort the installation, it is useless to continue.
Only when you are prompted for a licensenumber, the installation is OK
