How to find information about your computer,

 

Every computer running under Windows has a few handy programms build-in enabling you to find important information about your computer.

DXDIAG

Dxdiag provides you with info about your Operational System, CPU, Videocard, Soundcard, Memory aso.
To open dxdiag:

  • Keep Windowskey pressed and type R (alternative: Start - Run)
  • In the window type    dxdiag   and click OK
  • Wait till the bar left-bottom is filled.

You will now see various Tabs, each giving you information about the various components in your computer.
Clicking on "save all information" will produce a textfile on your desktop.
This file - it does not contain any information about personal things on your computer - can be mailed to other people in case of required help.

MSINFO32

More or less simular to dxdiag, but contains more detailed info about your computer's memory and use of virtual memory.

You open it just like dxdiag, but now you type msinfo32 in the window.
