How to copy a Sims CD or DVD,

 

You can easily copy a Sims-CD for installation purposes, you cannot use it for playing the game however unless you also add a NoCD-crack to it.

I always use the following method:
  1. Insert the original CD in your drive wait until it has started and select finish
  2. Search for the icon of your CD-player and right-click on it
  3. Select Explore
  4. Select a file at random and then use CTRL+A to highlight all files and folders
  5. Right-click and choose Copy
  6. Go to your desktop, create a new folder, open it, right-click and choose Paste
  7. Make a note of the CD-name (label), f.e. Sims2EP6 - very important !

You now have an almost exact copy of the CD/DVD on your desktop. Only the security-details are missing.
When you burn the contents of the new folder from your Desktop on a new rewritable disk, you can use it for installing the game.

If you want to make a disk for both installing and for playing you must do something extra prior to burning it to a blank disk
  1. Download a suitable NoCD-crack from this site or elsewhere from the internet
  2. Unpack the crack with Winrar
  3. Place the unpacked crack in the folder TSBin in your Desktop-folder
  4. You will receive a message that file already exists, overwrite ? - Yes
  5. Now burn the contents of the Desktop-folder to a blank CD/DVD and make sure you give it exactly the same name (label) as you have noted in item 7 above.

You now have a new disk with the same possibilities as the original, or even better !
When you install the game with this disk, the NoCD-crack is already built-in, so you can play the game without a CD in your station.

TIP -  Make a DVD

From Open for Business onwards, you can make a DVD with various Sims games and accessories.
Just burn the folders of the various games and aceesories on a DVD. Name/label is not important.

To install the games, just open de folder of the game and select EA Autorun to start the installation.
